MCBS Apostolates

Proclaiming the Good News of the Kingdom of God

Eucharistic Apostolate

‘To Be with Christ’

Eucharistic Apostolate is very dear to the heart of the MCBS and gives it top priority. By the very charism of our congregation, we are called in a special way to minister at the table of the Lord and to take up with responsibility the liturgical formation of the people of God.

Liturgical Apostolate

Liturgy being the centre of Christian life, we take keen interest in helping people to penetrate with understanding, faith and love into the meaning of the various dimensions of the liturgical celebration and in leading them to a fruitful participation.

Media Ministry

We interpret the word of God and all aspects of human existence in the light of the Eucharistic mystery, in new language, fresh styles and models through modern methods that are familiar to the present world.

Eucharistic Retreat

Through the Eucharistic retreat we share our Eucharistic experience with the people of God to make their lives patterned after the Eucharistic style of life.

Proclamation

Through the Eucharist, Christ continues to incarnate sacramentally (St. Justin) into different cultures. We feel called in a special way to reach out to all cultures, customs and peoples and to imbibe all that is good, noble and true and to offer up to God and sanctify them.

Social Apostolate

‘Spend and be Spent’

The sacrament of Divine Compassion (DivyaKarunya) enjoins on us the duty of looking for new models of service and ministry, and of committing ourselves to the least of our brothern (Matt 25, 40) in a true spirit of selfless services (Nishkamakarma).

Divine Compassion

Our specific identity as members of “divya-karunnya missionary sabha” consists in having the spirit of ‘divya karunnyam’ (divine compassion) and being compassionate persons after the manner of Jesus.

FBA Ministry

FBA -Friends of Birds of the Air- founded by late Fr George Kuttickal MCBS, is one of the greatest humanitarian organization which gives shelter today to millions of abandoned people on the streets of India.

Justice and Development

We strive for justice and development with the principles of gospel in mind. The liberating love of Christ inspires us to be the voice of the voiceless, strength of the weak and oppressed and to strive for the Eucharistic equity and love that were so evident in the first Christians.

Education Ministry

We understand our social apostolate in terms of our concern for human values, our effort for liberation from social injustice, and improved quality of human living.

Parish Apostolate

Tend my Sheep

Our Parish Apostolate helps us realise a true blend of religious commitment and ministerial priesthood. It is a call and challenge to be witnesses of authentic Christian life and priestly dedication. This is a call to work among the faithful to bring about ‘the stature of the fullness of Christ’ in them (Eph 4:13).

Parish Ministry

We take up parishes in view of forming ideal worshipping Christian communities and true Eucharistic fraternity after the model of the first Christians (Acts 2, 37-47).

Priestly Dedication

Our parish apostolate help us realize a true blend of religious commitment and ministerial priesthood. It is a call and challenge to be witnesses of authentic Christian life and priestly dedication.

Priesthood of the Laity

We take the priesthood of the laity seriously, that we choose, train, and empower lay leaders and
fulfill our own ministerial priesthood which is to foster the priesthood of the lay faithful.

Ideal Worshiping Communities

In view of forming ideal worshiping communities, we work with smaller units within the parish. This is towards building up of small ideal Christian communities with a view to building up the entire parish community.

Mission Apostolate

To be Sent Out

As brothers and sisters in the heavenly Father, we, rising above the barriers of cast, creed and culture must be instrument of peace and bound of unity in the whole world so that we may live a life of peace and tranquillity and that the whole world may know that God is our loving Father.

Life-Witnessing

Our mission consists in life-witnessing the Eucharistic values, e.g., compassion, justice and service. It is a silent proclamation of the good news and is a powerful means for evangelization.

Dialogue with Other Religions

To present the gospel to new cultural systems and religions we enter into dialogue with them through their spiritual heritage so that we are able to detect truths compatible with the gospel that serve as “seeds of the Word” (AG.11).

New Territories for Evangelization

Conscious of the role of the congregation in the missionary apostolate of the Church, we take up new territories for evangelization, as requested and authorized by the competent authority.

Inculturation

Through the Eucharist, Christ continues to incarnate sacramentally (St. Justin) into different cultures. We try to reach out to all cultures, customs and peoples and to imbibe all that is good, noble and true and to offer up to God and sanctify them.
